The issue is not Trump. What's wrong with America is Americans. In fact, they elected Trump three times-- yes the second one was not clear, but that's the other issue: 50% of the population votes and then half of them plus one "elects" the President. Effectively 26% of the population elect a president because of the system where voting is not compulsory and we have the outdated electoral college.

Fully agree. And if you read my piece, I'm trying to say that the solution is that many of those Americans who voted for Trump must wake up to the reality that he is not doing what he said he would do, he is not advancing the interests of the people who support him the most. As you said, the winning coalition in each election is a subset of Americans. I estimate that if only 6% of former Trump voters change their minds (either stay home or vote anything but Republican) the Congress will be controlled by Democrats. Even if you believe that most Congressional Democrats are not much different, not much better, than Congressional Republicans (as I do), you can have confidence that a Congress run by Democrats will seriously limit the damage that Trump and his sycophants can do. They may even impeach (and convict!) him.
