Fools Rush In
Trump support is based on fools believing he is on their side. (Written last year.)
Trump is not a leader - no, he panders to the sentiments of his supporters. He plays them like a circus plays drums! Trump support is based on fools believing he is on their side.
Trump has no real beliefs. Rather, he is conducting a campaign to escape accountability for his crimes. If he gets back in he will absolve himself of his own crimes. That part no one really doubts, and the (ahem) candidate tells people as much. It’s not as openly admitted, but if Trump gets back in he will leave his supporters in the lurch. He will have no further need for them and no further concern for what they think.
Instead of fulfilling campaign promises, the (ahem) ex-President will set about trying to consolidate himself as dictator. I doubt he will make it to actual dictator, but he will damage America in very serious ways. He will grift and graft himself into even more riches.
People he does still need, the array of robber barons, oligarchs and antigovernment activists in this country who still support the indicted and convicted criminal, will insinuate themselves into positions of power. They will further twist the media into their voice. They will put all public lands and resources into play for the highest bidder. They will establish antidemocratic policies that will take decades of overcome, if they ever can be reversed at all. Trump will install even more unethical political hacks on the Supreme Court, his motive being that he envisions a future where he himself is a robber baron and anti-tax activist.
Trump supporters are not all stupid. But all except a few moneyed cronies are just fools. The richest of the rich and the wickedest of the wicked will find favor in a Trump Administration. Foreign dictators and war criminals will be able to buy off American objections to their criminal activities by cutting Trump a piece of the action. The world will actually go to hell.
We gotta stop this movement, and to do that we gotta stop this man. Vote blue up and down your ballots, my friends. Vote for sanity. Vote for rule of law. Vote for international stability. Once we have an honest Administration in place, we can go back to arguing about the nuances of policy.

The issue is not Trump. What's wrong with America is Americans. In fact, they elected Trump three times-- yes the second one was not clear, but that's the other issue: 50% of the population votes and then half of them plus one "elects" the President. Effectively 26% of the population elect a president because of the system where voting is not compulsory and we have the outdated electoral college.
