Democratic Socialists

It is time we embrace what we really believe and fight for it!

Join the Democratic Socialists. This is a phrase that summarizes the programs put in place during the FDR era - programs that specifically favored the average working person and specifically reversed programs that favored the moneyed class. That is what we need now:

Increase social safety net programs and protect Social Security.

Restore taxation to levels that are both fair and adequate to fund the government and social safety net programs such as Social Security and new programs such as single-payer health care for all Americans.

Reverse pathological decisions of the SCOTUS such as Citizens United, the striking down of Glass-Steagall and the acts of the Roberts’ court to reverse 50 years of progress in human and voting rights.

Hold lawbreakers and those who violated their oath of office accountable.

This is not some scary form of radical communism. This is as American as apple pie, labor unions, progressive legislation and reasonable regulation of corporate power.

I’m switching what I call myself. It is time we embrace what we really believe and what we really fight for - truth, justice, economic equity, social equality and honorable public servants.
